Mont-Blanc massif: impressive wind slab avalanche at Le Tour


On 30 January 2020, a large PIDA (plan d'intervention de déclenchements des avalanches) took place for the Tour slopes service, Tête de Balme sector, Belleplace du Tour in Mont-Blanc massif, at 2,150 m altitude (7,053 ft). 

Following the preventative release of the impressive wind slab, a huge break of 5.5 meters was photographed.

Pionniers de Chamonix in the semifinals


After 19 years since their last appearance in the semifinals of the Coupe de France of ice hockey, the Pionniers de Chamonix (Pioneers of Chamonix) will be playing against Lyon on the 16th of February 2019, in the semifinals.

On the 16th of February at the Accor Hotel Arena in Paris Bercy, the Pionniers de Chamonix will be facing Lyon - the current champions - from 5.15 pm for a spot in the final.

François Braud: Silver at the Nordic World Ski Championships


27 February 2015. Goal achieved! After the silver medal won by Maurice Manificat in the cross-country ski competition, the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships that took place at Falun (Sweden) on Thursday has prepared a new huge surprise for all the French supporters.

Warning: heavy snow falls expected in Chamonix!


Huge snow falls have been predicted to fall this week, looking likely to start tomorrow, Thursday,  29th Jan and to continue until Sunday, 1st February 2015.

The Office de Haute Montagne, have today released a warning to all skiers, snowboarders or anyone expecting to spend time on the mountain.
