13 March 2015. A spectacular new cableway system will be soon inaugurated! The construction of a new "two-section" cable between Courmayeur and Pointe Helbronner started in 2011 and is expected to be completed this spring.
27 February 2015. Goal achieved! After the silver medal won by Maurice Manificat in the cross-country ski competition, the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships that took place at Falun (Sweden) on Thursday has prepared a new huge surprise for all the French supporters.

Sunday evening, 23 Nov 2014, a light earthquake shook the Chamonix valley, leaving no known damage or accidents.
The magnitude 3.7 earthquake struck about 9:50 p.m. The epicenter is thought to have been 18km north of Chamonix at a depth of 10km.
Friday, 19 Sept 2014, the eco-citizen event "Clearing up the Mer de Glace" has proven to be a great success!
The annual clean-up of the Mer de Glace is a true success. During the last 7 years, over 18 tonnes of rubbish were collected from the glacier.
The new Plan Joran 10 Person Gondola system is Chamonix's major project over the summer and autumn of 2014. New 10 person gondola cabins are replacing the current Plan Joran 4 seat chairlift.

The project that was launched by the Chamoniard Stéphane Sclavo is now supported by several environmental associations, ARSMB, Inspire, Black Nose, Environn'Mont-Blanc, together with the mayor of Chamonix and the deputy of Haute-Savoie.
